La Torre de Vilanna is a residential complex that has several homes and spaces. It owes its name to the magnificent 5-story tower that the Count of Girona ordered to be built in 1406 to defend the Girona_s orchards, which today occupy the surrounding forests. There are 12 rooms, 5 kitchen, 6 bathrooms.... around 750m2 build on 2 hectares aprox. The chapel or hermitage of San Miguel dates from the end of the 14th century, although it was rebuilt in 1900. The mansion or main house was renovated in 1950 on the ruins of an old farmhouse that must have been the rectory in its day. Attached to the west facade we find the house of the masoveros or service, with a separate entrance but connected to the mansion. Opposite the west façade and on a lower plane we find an old farmhouse and the hut (barn and animals) and the swimming pool. The buildings and gardens are surrounded by a fence, which has a gate in the southern part through which you can access the orchard and a piece of forest that is also part of the farm. Villana is part of the municipality of Bescanó and owes its name to an old Roman villa nestled in the area. To have breakfast and buy quality local products we have the Agroforn cafeteria, on the road below, 1km away. They have a wood oven and their own excellent pastry.
